In Seo-gyo dong that is close to
Hongdae(Hong Ik Univ.), there is a restaurant
that serves Jeju’s signature dishes
as if they moved the hole island of Jeju.

Even though the origin of the restaurant’s name
came from Chinese characters, which supposed to be
called as Rae-Hee - “Rae(來)” means “to come”,
“Hee(喜)” means “pleasure”, by the way
- but currently it’s called like “Ray”
following the trend and for fun.







The restaurant is run by a husband and wife,
their first branch is at Jeju's and
second one in Donggyo-dong, Seoul.

The restaurant Ray, which has cozy and comfortable
atmosphere for it’s inside,
is so different between the size you see it
from the outside and the size
you see it from the inside.







As it had been a restaurant from the first time,
before it was changed to the Ray restaurant,
so there hasn’t been any big interior
housing work nor remodeling.

But each part of interior decoration seems to be paid
much attention in detail, and
it is where the owners considered to make a space
for customers won’t get sick nor
be awkward no matter how long time
they would stay.







There are books on a side,
and on the tables in the hall,
there are cups, menu plates etc.
are carefully placed.

It stands out the owner’s good sense
in making use of every single interior element.







They used classical lights and
wooden tables and chairs overall.
The interior of the restaurant Ray,
which gives a warm feeling,
is likely where we can take a break from
the busy life outside, which is shown
through the entire glass wall.







The kitchen is a trendy open kitchen,
so I could see chefs cooking.
The two chefs in a neat black color look,
as if they were wearing a slim custom suit,
they felt even better somehow.







it felt Japanese as a whole,
maybe because it is a Japanese cuisine restaurant.
It made me press shutter incessantly,
the view of reflection in the interior glass wall
and low ceiling that made me as if
I was actually in Japan unless I don’t look outside.







This place, filled with wine that is good enough
to be called a wine shop,
is packed with delicious wines from each country.

Many people would come by since
the price is better than anticipated.







This picture that you can see on the right-side
walking into the main gate,
is a view of the sea that
is seen from Jeju branch.

The painting was so cool and had some vibe,
so I even thought that it was from a famous painter
before I was told that
it was made by his father-in-law.







Cotton flowers, laid daintily,
and magazines in Japanese.







It came to mind that it was a well harmonized space
with flowers, looking around here and there.

Even on cold winter days,
the Ray, although it’s not a big restaurant,
seem to be enough to keep warm fragrance and
forget the cold for the feeling that
fills the inside with small flowers.

and wife work every day.
The Madam president says that she is
busy working hard, making trip between
Jeju and Seoul day after day without a day off.

now she is having busy days,
she says sometimes she is missing the past days
when she was traveling and reading books,
which used to be her hobby.

Returns & Exchanges

1. Requirements:

Please take into consideration that we only accept qualifying returns but not exchanges. Refunds are issued once the returned products clear our inspection.

1) An item is eligible for cancellation if:
-you posted a Return request within 24 hours of payment and your order is still under “Pending” status (if your order is under “Queued for Shipment” status, please contact our customer service center) or
-the order is delayed for more than 10 days since payment and you have not received any notification regarding the delay; or
-the ordered item is out of stock.

2) We accept return(s) if:

-you receive a product different from your order; or

-you receive a defective product.

**Return Instructions

(1) Post a return request on our Return forum within three days of receipt. You are required to attach the photos of the received product(s) and include the item code, the order number, and the reason for the return.

(2) A customer service representative will be in contact to assist you by email or phone.

(3) Items returned must be in their original condition, which includes tags and any packaging. Also, you need to include a note of your order number, name, and user ID.

*Please be advised that returns are accepted ONLY IF you followed the instructions above and your return request has been approved by our staff. Returns that are shipped to us without any prior consent are not accepted.

*Please note that EVEN the defective/incorrect item(s) must be returned with all of the tags and labels intact. The item(s) must be sent in their original packaging and unworn.

*Please include all contents of the original package and free gifts (if applicable) in your return packaging.

* Shipping fee for any return caused by our fault will be paid by the company. However, if EMS’ cash on delivery is not possible then you can scan the return receipt and either mail it with the item to return or post an image of it on the forum. The shipping fee will be refunded once the returned item has arrived.

3) We do not accept return(s) if:

-you are returning the items just because you changed your mind (on size, color, etc.)
-you are returning shoes, bags, or any other accessories
-the products are damaged due to your mishandling
-your return request is not approved by our staff

The following items are not considered defective:

* Items that are originally manufactured without tags or labels
* Items with creases that may have been made while shipping
* Items with unsatisfactory/incomplete finish due to mass production

4) If there is a missing item from your order:

*Contact our customer service center by phone or by forum (if you cannot reach us by phone) within 1 day of delivery.
*Please keep all contents of the original package including packaging material (boxes, plastic bags etc.) with you until you are instructed otherwise.
